Mimi + 1

Today's post is a little different to my usual. Instead of photos, I'm sharing one of my concept boards for the styling of a childrens bedroom I have been working on lately for the Romyn family.

The client approached me after seeing and liking Sunday's nursery on here. The Romyn family have recently moved in to a new home - luckily, the allocated room for the two children is a large one (also a blank canvas), and the brief was an open and wonderful one:

Style a bedroom for toddler Mimi, who is due to have a baby brother or sister  (I'm going with baby brother for the first concept presentation, which is why I suggested the Ikea cot be painted navy blue)  in a few months time. The room must be unisex, fun and colourful.

I've really enjoyed sourcing for this job. I have been conscious of working with a fairly modest budget, and I can't wait for it to all come together. I will link a list of suppliers below, but let me know if you have any questions!

  2. WOW! love this mood board ... so incredibly thoughtful and detailed. Love all the small touches like the donkey and the drawer handles. LOVE the freedom yellow chair and the turquoise bedhead. You must post photos from the finished room, can't wait to see how it all works together.

  4. Thanks Kara - and so true, blue for baby girl would be just as lovely - did you see it's my cheap version of the Kalon Caravan cot? Not nearly as good as the real thing, but will do!

  5. Hi Briar. My 'baby' is now nearly 11 but I still love looking at nurseries! Can you tell me who the stockist is for the turquoise bedhead? It would look great against Gracie's grey walls. Thankyou for your inspiration!

  7. I was just wondering... What program or software did you use to create this presentation? I am a high school design student always looking for ways to improve my presentation of ideas. Thanks
